Performance Improvement of On-line Adaptive Feedback Canceller in Active Noise Control under Narrow Band Noise Case

This paper discusses acoustic feedback effects in active noise control (ANC) and proposes an improved performance online adaptive feedback canceller (AFC). The online AFC is ineffective if the noise input is narrowband. The proposed method uses the prewhitening filter in the weight adaptation path of both AFC and ANC. The computer simulations show that the proposed method of ANC with online AFC outperforms the conventional ANC structure under narrowband acoustic noise case.
